JOB PURPOSE:

The Bagger is responsible for properly and efficiently packing customers’ grocery items while delivering friendly, courteous service. Baggers assist customers with loading groceries, collecting carts, and supporting overall cleanliness and organization at the front end. This role plays a key part in creating a positive and helpful shopping experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Packs grocery items carefully into bags based on item type, weight, and customer preference, following company standards.
  • Assists customers by placing groceries in carts and escorting them to their vehicles when needed.
  • Collects and returns shopping carts from parking areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Assists customers with questions and directs them to product locations or appropriate staff.
  • Verifies pricing on items when requested and communicates clearly with the cashier.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and front-end stations.
  • Carries out trash, restocks front-end supplies (bags, receipt paper, cleaning materials), and sanitizes high-touch areas regularly.
  • Provides backup support to other departments, such as stocking shelves or unloading deliveries, as directed.
  • Upholds excellent customer service standards by being courteous, attentive, and professional at all times.
  • Follows all store safety procedures and loss prevention guidelines.
  • Provides assistance relative to monthly and fiscal inventory.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
