Key Responsibilities

  • Account Reconciliations: Perform timely and accurate monthly reconciliations for critical balance sheet accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, accruals, and intercompany balances.
  • Fixed Asset Management: Track capital expenditures, maintain the fixed asset ledger, calculate monthly depreciation, and oversee asset disposals or impairments.
  • Liability & Debt Tracking: Monitor short- and long-term liabilities, update amortization schedules for loans, and ensure accurate interest accruals.
  • Sub-ledger Tie-ins: Ensure all subsidiary ledgers (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory) perfectly reconcile to the general ledger control accounts.
  • Audit Support: Prepare detailed balance sheet substantiation schedules, roll-forward templates, and supporting work papers for external auditors.
  • Variance Investigation: Research, resolve, and document any balance sheet discrepancies or un-reconciled items in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 2–4+ years of dedicated general ledger or balance sheet accounting experience, ideally within a high-transaction environment.
  • Software: Exceptional proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, index/match, pivot tables) and direct experience with robust ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, NetSuite, SAP, Workday).
