Spire Norwich Hospital is looking for a friendly and reliable Host & Catering Assistant to join our Catering Team on a Bank basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with catering, hospitality, retail, customer service, or food service experience who is looking for flexible work within a supportive healthcare environment.
As a Host & Catering Assistant, you'll play an important role in enhancing our patients' experience by providing a high-quality food and beverage service to patients, consultants, visitors, and colleagues. You'll be a friendly face within the hospital, helping ensure every customer receives excellent service and support.

Whether serving meals, assisting patients with food choices, or supporting the smooth operation of our kitchen and restaurant services, you'll be part of a team that genuinely makes a difference every day.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation, presentation, and service of food and beverages to patients, consultants, visitors, and staff.
- Deliver meals and refreshments to patient rooms and ward areas.
- Take food and beverage orders while accommodating special dietary requirements and individual needs.
- Proactively engage with patients to ensure they receive an excellent dining experience throughout their stay.
- Support the operation of the staff restaurant and catering services across the hospital.
- Rotate stock, monitor expiry dates, and maintain stock control procedures.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene at all times.
- Carry out kitchen cleaning duties and washing-up activities in accordance with department schedules.
- Follow all food hygiene, infection prevention, health and safety, and catering procedures.
- Attend relevant training and development activities as required.

- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns.
- Awareness of the importance of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Previous experience within catering, hospitality, food service, retail, or customer-facing environments.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Bank Contract (0 hours)
- Flexible, ad-hoc shifts available
- Monday to Sunday
- Shifts available between 6:00am and 9:00pm
