Bank Senior Analyst, Structured Trade Finance

Process daily trade finance transactions, ensure compliance with regulations, and resolve client queries for import/export Letter of Credit products in a banking environment.

Job Summary

Manage and execute daily trade finance operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory and bank policies while maintaining accuracy and timeliness. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve queries and contribute to process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Process daily trade finance transactions accurately and within agreed service levels
  • Conduct pre-processing reviews and documentary checks on customer submissions to ensure compliance
  • Adhere strictly to regulatory requirements, bank policies, guidelines, and internal controls
  • Complete daily reconciliation activities and prepare reports for internal stakeholders and customers
  • Liaise with clients and relevant stakeholders to update transaction statuses and resolve transaction-related queries
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and support project tasks as assigned
  • Manage customer queries independently under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Communicate decisively and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with stakeholders
  • Apply risk awareness, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills to manage daily operations effectively

Required competencies and certifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of structured trade finance operations experience covering import and export LC products
  • Strong knowledge of Import and Export Letter of Credit (LC) products
  • Good understanding of UCP600, ISBP, and URC522 rules
  • Experience in document examination and discrepancy handling
  • Awareness of trade-based money laundering risks
  • Experience in stakeholder communications
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage tight cut-off timelines

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • University degree, preferably in Banking & Finance or related disciplines
  • Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) certification
  • Knowledge of SWIFT standards (MT700, MT707, MT754, MT799, MT760, etc.)
  • Good understanding of ISP98 and Incoterms
  • Experience in audits and regulatory reviews
  • Understanding of operational risk and control requirements
  • Self-starter with resilience and flexibility in challenging circumstances
