About the Role

A New York law practice is seeking an experienced debtor-side bankruptcy litigator to join its bankruptcy and commercial litigation teams. You will lead complex disputes and help steward an established practice as a senior partner transitions out.

  • Manage cases from strategy through court appearances, hearings, and resolution.

  • Build relationships with existing clients and support continuity of the practice during a senior partner transition.

  • Work collaboratively with bankruptcy and commercial litigation colleagues.

  • Contribute to business development and the practice's long-term succession.

What We're Looking For

  • Eight or more years of bankruptcy litigation experience, with a strong debtor-side focus.

  • Experience representing debtors in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings, including adversary proceedings and contested matters.

  • Confident bankruptcy court advocacy and working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code and Rules.

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active New York bar admission.

  • Proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER, ECF, and Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to manage a practice independently, maintain client relationships, and work collaboratively; experience with client succession or business development is valuable.

  • A portable bankruptcy practice is a plus.
