Description

Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch, located in Bradenton, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Banquet & Special Events Manager! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast‑paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
Position Summary:
The Banquet & Special Events Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and overseeing all banquet functions, private parties, community events, and special functions held within the HOA's clubhouse and event facilities.
The position requires a hospitality professional who combines outstanding customer service with strong organizational skills, financial responsibility, and hands-on event management.
Unlike a traditional hotel banquet manager, this individual works within a residential community where resident relationships, consistent service, fair treatment, and long-term satisfaction are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Coordination:
  • Serve as the primary contact for residents and community organizations planning private events, celebrations, and special functions.
  • Coordinate weddings, birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, holiday functions, club activities, and HOA-sponsored events.
  • Meet with residents to discuss event requirements, menus, room arrangements, pricing, and special requests.
  • Prepare detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) outlining all event requirements.
  • Coordinate event schedules with the culinary team, restaurant management, bartenders, servers, and clubhouse staff.
  • Ensure events begin on time and operate smoothly from setup through cleanup.
Resident Relations & Customer Service:
  • Provide professional, courteous, and responsive service to residents and their guests.
  • Respond promptly to banquet inquiries, requests, and complaints.
  • Clearly communicate event policies, pricing, deposits, cancellation procedures, and service charges.
  • Resolve event-related concerns professionally and fairly.
  • Maintain positive relationships with HOA committees, social clubs, and resident organizations.
  • Follow up after events to evaluate satisfaction and identify improvements.
Financial Management & Profitability:
  • Prepare accurate event estimates and budgets.
  • Work with the Food & Beverage Director and Executive Chef to establish appropriate event pricing.
  • Monitor food costs, beverage costs, staffing expenses, and other event-related expenditures.
  • Ensure events meet established financial targets and approved budget expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to increase banquet revenue without compromising resident satisfaction.
  • Track actual event expenses against projected costs.
  • Prepare monthly reports showing banquet revenue, expenses, profitability, and event participation.
  • Ensure proper billing, deposits, payment collection, and reconciliation.
Staff Management & Supervision:
  • Schedule and supervise banquet servers, bartenders, setup personnel, and other event staff.
  • Determine appropriate staffing levels based on event size and service requirements.
  • Train employees in service standards, event procedures, resident interaction, and safety.
  • Monitor labor hours and minimize unnecessary overtime.
  • Ensure employees maintain professional appearance, punctuality, and service standards.
  • Provide hands-on assistance during major events and high-volume functions.
Event Execution & Facility Management:
  • Personally oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, or designate a qualified on-site supervisor.
  • Verify room layouts, table settings, decorations, audiovisual requirements, and food service arrangements.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and housekeeping departments.
  • Ensure event spaces are clean, safe, and returned to their original condition.
  • Protect HOA property, furnishings, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Florida food safety, alcohol service, fire safety, occupancy, and accessibility requirements.
HOA Community Coordination:
  • Work collaboratively with HOA management, the Lifestyle Director, and appropriate resident committees.
  • Coordinate scheduling to avoid conflicts between private functions and community activities.
  • Understand the differences between HOA-sponsored, resident-sponsored, and privately booked events.
  • Apply approved facility-use policies consistently and fairly.
  • Provide management with advance notice of significant event concerns.
Benefits & Other Compensation:
This position includes eligibility for the following benefits, subject to applicable plan terms:
  • Healthcare Benefits – Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage.
  • Retirement Benefits – 401(k) with employer match (19 years of age and older).
  • Time Off – Paid time off (PTO) and leaves of absence, in accordance with applicable law and eligibility criteria.
Eligibility for benefits and the specific terms, conditions, and offerings are governed by the applicable plan documents and company policies, which may be amended at the Company’s discretion.
