Banquet Team Leader

The Banquet Team Leader supports the banquet management team in delivering weddings, meetings and other functions at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, Singapore. The role leads the service team during assigned functions, oversees room setup, service and breakdown, and coordinates with Culinary, Stewarding and other teams to keep events running smoothly. The Team Leader coaches associates on the floor, attends to guest requests and escalates issues that require management follow-up.

Job Description

• Lead the banquet service team during assigned functions, from room setup and service through to post-event breakdown.

• Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and check that room layouts, table settings, service stations and equipment meet event requirements.

• Conduct pre-function briefings and assign duties and service stations to full-time and casual associates.

• Monitor service timing and coordinate with Culinary and Stewarding to keep food and beverage service on schedule.

• Liaise with Catering Sales and AV teams on event details and operational changes during assigned functions.

• Attend to guest requests and feedback promptly, resolve routine service issues and escalate concerns to the duty manager when needed.

• Provide on-the-job coaching to new and casual associates and ensure the team follows grooming, hygiene, safety and service standards.

• Check that banquet equipment, linen and serviceware are cleaned, accounted for and stored properly after each event. Report shortages, damage or maintenance issues.

Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in banquet or food and beverage service, preferably in a hotel.

• Experience guiding a service team or overseeing a service station or function is preferred.

• Working knowledge of banquet setup and food and beverage service. Familiarity with Chinese banquet service is an advantage.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to brief, guide and coordinate full-time and casual associates.

• Attentive to detail and able to respond calmly to guest requests and last-minute event changes.

• Able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
