Job description

How does your working day look?

• Identify and meet guests’ needs, provide appropriate bar services, and assist guests with recommendations, upselling where appropriate to provide knowledgeable and bespoke service.
• Complete day-to-day activities by following all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner while delivering quality service to guests and maintaining standards of excellence.
• Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls so that the company provides world-class and luxurious hospitality services to its guests.
• Comply with quality expectations and standards.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support the team in reaching common goals.
• Maintain an efficient workflow by adhering to the sequence of service and standards detailed in the relevant food and beverage standards manual.
• Serve beverages according to defined standards and measures, in accordance with local license agreements.
• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks according to beverage recipes.
• Ensure all drink transactions are processed, registered, and settled.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Set up the bar appropriately, ensuring the visuals and merchandise are placed appropriately.
• Undertake opening, closing, and cleaning tasks as detailed on checklists.
• Coordinate with stewards to ensure equipment and the bar area are kept hygienically clean and tidy at all times, and that sufficient glassware is available.
• Check expiration dates and ensure all perishable garnishes are stored and recorded in the designated storage area.
• Adopt a responsible attitude toward serving alcoholic beverages to ensure safe consumption in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.
• Perform related tasks and duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by management.

Qualifications

Your personality counts more than your CV.

• You have a minimum of 3–4 years of experience as a bartender in a five-star hotel, upscale bar, or high-end restaurant.
• You have strong knowledge of beverages, cocktails, spirits, wines, and bar service standards.
• You are passionate about hospitality and genuinely enjoy creating memorable experiences for guests.
• You have experience with point-of-sale systems, cash handling, and managing guest requests and complaints professionally.
• You have a friendly, confident personality and enjoy interacting with guests and colleagues.
• You are reliable, organised, and able to keep a cool head and maintain service standards during busy periods.
• You are a true team player with a hands-on mentality and a positive attitude.
• You have good knowledge of bar hygiene, cleanliness, and responsible alcohol service.
• You communicate confidently in English.
