Basketball Coach

Job Summary:

The Basketball Coach will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering effective basketball training programs for students. The role involves developing players’ skills, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship while promoting a positive sporting culture in the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or related field (preferred).
  

• Prior experience coaching school or college basketball teams.
  

• Strong knowledge of basketball rules, strategies, and techniques.
  

• Good communication, motivation, and leadership skills.
  

• Ability to work with students of varying skill levels.
  

• Passionate about youth development through sports.
  

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and conduct regular basketball practice sessions for students across different age groups.
  

• Teach fundamental and advanced basketball skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and game strategy.
  

• Identify and nurture talented players for school and inter-school competitions.
  

• Maintain discipline, teamwork, and a spirit of fair play among players.
  

• Prepare students for tournaments and manage team selection, training schedules, and game-day coordination.
  

• Monitor the fitness, performance, and progress of each player.
  

• Ensure proper use and maintenance of sports equipment and facilities.
  

• Promote participation in basketball and encourage physical fitness among students.
  

• Coordinate with the PE department and administration for scheduling games, practices, and events.
  

• Uphold safety standards and ensure a safe playing environment for all participants.
