Basketball Instructor (Rainier Beach Community Center)
Associated Recreation Council (ARC), in partnership with Seattle Parks and Recreation, is seeking a qualified Basketball Instructor to teach youth basketball classes at Rainier Beach.
This position focuses on teaching fundamental basketball skills in a positive, structured, and inclusive environment.
Status: Part-time, Seasonal (March – November)
Work Schedule: Mondays, 4:15 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.
Desired Start Date: March 23, 2026
Basketball Instructor Responsibilities:

Instruct participants in fundamental basketball skills, including dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense

Lead drills and skill-building activities

Supervise participants and maintain a safe and positive learning environment

Set up and clean up equipment and activity areas

Communicate effectively with ARC staff and site supervisors

Follow ARC and Seattle Parks and Recreation policies and procedures
Basketball Instructor Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older

Experience coaching or instructing basketball in a recreational, school, or community setting

Experience working with children or youth

Ability to manage groups in a positive and supportive manner
Pay:

Starting Pay: $23.00 – $25.00/ hr

Full Pay Range: $23.00-33.00/hr (employee may earn up to $33.00/hr with continued employment)
