About the role:
We are seeking a Battery & Energy Storage Analyst to build, maintain, and analyze the large datasets that underpin CRU’s coverage of battery and energy storage technologies, their markets, and the companies operating across these value chains. This role combines strong numerical and analytical skills with market insight to deliver timely, high-quality data and analysis for CRU’s global client base and the Market Analysis and Forecasts team.

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced modelling and data techniques to contribute to CRU’s Battery and Clean Technology Services and client engagement
• Build an industry profile as a trusted analyst through conference participation, high-quality insights, and media engagement
• Undertake client meetings, demos, and webinars
• Respond to client and internal requests for data and answers related to market forecasts
• Identify and implement opportunities to automate data acquisition and validation workflows
• Support identification of new business opportunities
• Take responsibility for organizing, updating, and analyzing key data series that form part of customer deliverables
• Contribute to the analysis and forecasts for CRU’s Battery and Clean Technology Services
• Conduct primary and secondary research, including speaking to and developing relationships with market, industry, and institutional contacts
• Build an understanding of energy storage and battery markets, translating learnings back into CRU’s data to ensure it remains accurate and current

Requirements

Qualifications:

• 2 years’ relevant experience in commodity, energy, data analysis, or market research is advantageous
• Strong numerical and analytical ability
• Experience working with large datasets and market data
• Ability to understand and communicate technical subjects, including technology changes and policy drivers
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work closely with internal and global teams

Skills & Experience:

• Data handling and model development: preprocessing, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets
• Critical analysis: use both soft and hard data to identify trends, drivers, conclusions, and insights
• Ability to adapt rapidly to changing market conditions
• Strong communication skills, including delivering detailed client calls and conference presentations
• Commercial awareness and client focus
• Collaboration with the global CRU Analysis team to share best practice and learnings
• Experience representing an organization externally through keynotes, client engagement, or media-facing activity
• Ability to support continuous improvement of services and help maintain rapid growth
