Battery Design Engineer in Bristol

Job DescriptionSenior Battery Design Engineer ARCA is supporting an aerospace programme to bring in an experienced Battery Design Engineer on a contract basis. This is a hands-on role within the Battery team, focused on detailed mechanical design and design ownership across high-performance battery pack assemblies. The work: * Detailed mechanical design and development of battery pack assemblies * Design of housings, enclosures and internal battery components * Injection-moulded components, sheet metal, cast parts and sealing * Packaging and integration of HV components * Designing with consideration for creepage & clearance, busbars and electrical bolted joints * Supporting designs from concept through to manufacture and assembly * Working closely with electrical, manufacturing, analysis and wider engineering teams What they’re looking for: * Strong mechanical / product design experience within battery, EV, automotive, aerospace or another complex engineering environment * Hands-on detail design and design ownership experience * Experience with injection moulding, sheet metal, cast components and sealing * Good understanding of HV electrical considerations within mechanical design * Experience designing smaller-scale assemblies for manufacture * CATIA / 3DEXPERIENCE experience Details: * Contract: 3 months initially – Outside IR35 * Location: Bristol – 2 days onsite per week If you would like to know more about this Battery Design Engineer opportunity, please apply for immediate consideration
