Battery & Motor Component Sales
Job Purpose:
To drive business growth by developing and managing sales of EV powertrain components — primarily batteries, battery packs, motors, controllers, and chargers — to OEMs, EV startups, system integrators, and distributors in the two-wheeler segment. The role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, building long-term partnerships, and achieving sales targets through strategic account management and technical solution selling.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development & Client Acquisition
Identify and onboard 2W OEMs, EV startups, and Tier-II integrators for component supply partnerships.
Generate new business leads in both domestic and export markets for EV powertrain components.
Develop sales strategies aligned with organizational objectives, market trends, and product roadmaps.
Conduct techno-commercial presentations highlighting component specifications, performance, and value proposition.
2. Product & Solution Sales
Promote and sell a defined range of EV components, including:
Battery Packs (Li-ion, LFP, NMC)
Battery Management Systems (BMS)
Hub Motors / Mid-Drive Motors
Motor Controllers
DC-DC Converters
On-board / Off-board Chargers
Power Electronics & Wiring Harnesses
Work with engineering and R&D teams to offer customized component solutions based on client requirements.
Educate clients on product certifications (AIS-156, IP ratings, safety compliance, etc.) and technical performance parameters.
3. Account & Relationship Management
Build and maintain relationships with OEM Purchase, R&D, and Sourcing teams.
Manage end-to-end sales cycle — from inquiry, quotation, and sampling to PO closure and payment follow-up.
Track and support project development stages (from design-in to SOP) for long-term supply opportunities.
Ensure timely response to RFQs, technical clarifications, and commercial negotiations.
4. Market Intelligence & Strategy
Monitor EV industry trends, competitor offerings, and price movements in the battery and motor domain.
Identify potential opportunities in battery-swapping networks, charging infrastructure, and fleet electrification programs.
Provide regular updates to management on market shifts, customer feedback, and future technology needs.
Support in defining product positioning, pricing strategies, and go-to-market initiatives.
5. Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination
Work closely with R&D, Quality, and Production teams to ensure smooth technical approvals and deliveries.
Coordinate with Supply Chain and Logistics for timely order execution and dispatch planning.
Collaborate with Marketing teams for participation in EV expos, industry events, and technical seminars.
6. Reporting & Performance Tracking
Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and revenue dashboards.
Maintain all client records, inquiries, and activities in CRM systems.
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and margins.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding of EV Powertrain systems — batteries, motors, controllers, and related components.
Knowledge of Li-ion cell chemistry (LFP, NMC), pack design, and safety standards (AIS-156, IP67, UN38.3).
Familiarity with motor types (BLDC, PMSM) and performance metrics (torque, RPM, efficiency).
Understanding of vehicle homologation processes, sourcing criteria, and EV component testing protocols.
Sales & Business Skills
B2B / Component Sales experience with strong techno-commercial acumen.
Excellent negotiation and client relationship management.
