Battery Sorters - Afternoon

Sorts mixed batteries on a conveyor, operates a forklift, and logs data in Excel/Greentrax during an afternoon shift at a recycling facility.

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Battery sorter is responsible for sorting batteries to the proper destinations, data entry and forklift movements.
Shift time: 2 PM to 10 PM
Key Responsibilities:
• Sorting mixed batteries on a production conveyor
• Transport raw materials, scrap and recyclable materials throughout plant using a forklift
• Data entry using Microsoft Excel and Greentrax
• Clean work areas and equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
• Completion of secondary school
• Experience in a related production line occupation or as a warehouse worker Forklift and/or Overhead crane experience an asset
• OHSA Rights and Responsibilities, WHMIS training
• Physical strength is required for manual material handling materials
• Long standing, walking and some minimal climbing of ladders and stairs
• Wearing and maintenance of required PPE including respirator mask
