BDR, AI Research Automation (SF)

Discussion

Lavendo partners with startups and high‑growth companies to help them hire top‑tier sales, GTM, and technical talent. This role is with one of our clients; we’ll share full details about the company and interview process as we get to know you and confirm mutual fit.

About the Company

Our client is building the future of research: an AI-native "agentic spreadsheet" where swarms of research agents run in parallel to pull, verify, and structure data — company and contact enrichment, deal sourcing, market mapping — and hand back cited, auditable answers instead of guesses. It plugs into the tools GTM and finance teams already live in: Salesforce, HubSpot, Gmail, PitchBook, Crunchbase.

The team is under 30 people, based in San Francisco, founded in 2024, and backed by Y Combinator and General Catalyst, with angel checks from the cofounders of Dropbox, Ramp, Intercom, LangChain, Redis, Behance, and PostHog. The team has strong traction within Commercial and Enterprise buyers (PE firms, investment banks, RevOps teams) and is actively scaling to keep up. The company is pre-Series A — which means this is the perfect moment to join: enterprise traction is already real, and the next chapter of growth is just ahead.

The Mission

Agents are getting powerful fast. The bottleneck now is making that power usable at scale, for real teams, on real workflows — not another demo.

The Opportunity

This is a Founding BDR (Growth) seat, where you'll build and iterate on outbound systems, not just follow a playbook. You'll be the engine behind outbound motion — relentlessly booking qualified meetings with enterprise and commercial buyers across finance, go-to-market teams, and RevOps teams.

Given the company's early stage — early operators at this stage tend to move into the full-cycle AE or Leadership seat fast, because there's no ten-layer org chart in between.

Location: On-site 5 days/week in San Francisco
Visa sponsorship: Open to visa transfers (OPT, H-1B transfers, etc.)

What You'll Do

  • Build and execute our client's outbound engine — cold outreach, cold calling, and signal-based prospecting to book qualified meetings for the sales team

  • Identify and engage hard-to-reach buyers across target verticals including finance (PE firms, investment banks) and go-to-market / RevOps teams

  • Mine our client's thousands of self-serve users to surface enterprise conversion opportunities and turn warm signals into booked demos

  • Attend conferences and events as a representative of our client to generate pipeline and build relationships with prospects

  • Develop strategic insights on ideal buyer personas and outbound channels, iterating on what works to build a repeatable, scalable pipeline machine

What You Bring

  • 1–3 years crushing outbound as a BDR/SDR at a B2B SaaS startup, with a track record of quota overachievement

  • You've built an outbound process from scratch before — sequences, cadences, targeting logic — not just run someone else's

  • Exceptional cold calling, cold email, and account-mapping/signal-based prospecting skills across multiple channels

  • You're ready to work in the San Francisco office five days a week

Key Success Drivers

  • You're hungry and competitive, and you want massive ownership at a breakout company

  • You've built an outbound motion from zero before and can point to specific, documented results

  • You can triage fifteen priorities at once without freezing, because that's just a regular Tuesday at an early-stage startup

  • You treat ambiguity as an opportunity, not an obstacle

Why Join?

  • Competitive Comp: $75K–$95K with $110K–$130K OTE, plus meaningful equity

  • Backing: $7M raised from General Catalyst, Y Combinator, and angels from Dropbox, Ramp, Intercom, LangChain, Redis, Behance, and PostHog

  • Timing: Pre-Series A with enterprise traction already compounding — you're joining before the story is obvious to everyone else

  • Ownership: You build the outbound function, not maintain one — every win is legibly yours

  • Trajectory: Founding hires at this stage typically move into a full-cycle AE or Leadership seat fast, because scope grows with the company and there's no queue to wait in

Interviewing Process

  1. Initial Screen with the Founder & CEO (15 minutes)

  2. Behavioral Interview with Founding Growth (30 minutes)

  3. A Case Study with Founding Growth & Ops (45 minutes)

  4. Paid working trial (1 day)

  5. Offer extended to successful candidates
