Overview

Facilitate the safe assembly of Chocks for various mill rolls and perform regularly scheduled inspections and maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Assemble Chocks by installing bearings and wear liners as needed for all mill rolls
  • Utilizing overhead cranes and mobile equipment for various tasks
  • Inspection, Breakdown, Cleaning and Reassembly of chocks/bearings
  • Input data into RSMS for tracking maintenance intervals and bearing life
  • Support chockers with maintenance of chocks and roll assemblies
  • Effectively work with Supervisor to implement Best Practices

Qualifications

Required

  • Proven track record in Safety
  • Excellent communication skills and experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Experience with high levels of responsibility and decision making
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
  • Observant, attention to details and accuracy
  • Must be self-motivated and possess a strong desire for continuous improvement
  • Overtime and weekends may be required

Preferred

  • Strong computer skills
  • Previous Bearing Experience
  • Basic welding and machining experience
