Facilitate the safe assembly of Chocks for various mill rolls and perform regularly scheduled inspections and maintenance
Responsibilities
- Assemble Chocks by installing bearings and wear liners as needed for all mill rolls
- Utilizing overhead cranes and mobile equipment for various tasks
- Inspection, Breakdown, Cleaning and Reassembly of chocks/bearings
- Input data into RSMS for tracking maintenance intervals and bearing life
- Support chockers with maintenance of chocks and roll assemblies
- Effectively work with Supervisor to implement Best Practices
Qualifications
Required
- Proven track record in Safety
- Excellent communication skills and experience
- Basic computer skills
- Experience with high levels of responsibility and decision making
- Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills
- Observant, attention to details and accuracy
- Must be self-motivated and possess a strong desire for continuous improvement
- Overtime and weekends may be required
Preferred
- Strong computer skills
- Previous Bearing Experience
- Basic welding and machining experience
