Role Description:

The Farmers Insurance – Kim Beens Agency is seeking a motivated, curious student to join our team as a Sales Development Intern. This is a hands-on introduction to the insurance sales process. You will support our licensed producers by calling potential customers, booking appointments, responding to customers online, and learning how we quote insurance. It is a great fit for someone exploring a career in sales, business, marketing, or insurance. This is a 10-week summer internship offered through the Students + Startups program, based in our San Antonio, TX office.

Responsibilities:

  • Make outbound calls to leads and book appointments for our licensed Agency Producers.

  • Follow Do Not Call rules and agency calling guidelines on every outreach.

  • Respond to customer messages, comments, and reviews on our social media pages and Yelp in a timely, professional manner.

  • Enter and update lead, contact, and activity information in our CRM (AgencyZoom).

  • Learn the agency’s quoting processes and systems under the guidance of licensed agents.

  • Participate in daily team huddle.

  • Engage fully in agency training on insurance basics, the sales process, and compliance.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Note: Interns will learn our quoting process but do not quote, sell, bind, or give advice on insurance coverage to customers. These activities are handled by our licensed agents.

Requirements:

  • Current student or recent graduate of a San Antonio-area college or university (business, marketing, communications, or related field preferred).

  • Strong phone and written communication skills, and comfortable making outbound calls.

  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office/Excel, and learning new software.

  • Self-motivated, coachable, and eager to learn.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Professional and reliable, with the ability to keep customer information confidential.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

  • No insurance license required. Interest in earning a Texas Property and Casualty license is a plus.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Real-world experience in insurance sales and customer service

  • Training in outbound calling, appointment setting, and our quoting process

  • Exposure to commercial and personal lines insurance

  • Hands-on experience with a professional CRM and managing customer reviews and social media
