Before Care Staff

The Community Charter School of Paterson is seeking Before-Care staff to join our schools.

The Before Care Staff member is responsible for coordination of the before school care program. This individual ensures a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment for students before the start of the school day. Staff arrival is at 7:00 AM, with student entry from 7:15 AM to 7:45 AM. CCSP Teaching staff members will transition to their homeroom at 7:45AM while all other Before-Care Staff members assist with the students’ transition to their homeroom. Students will transition to their homeroom at 8:00 AM.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Program Assistance:

   • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities for students.

   • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment.

2. Student Engagement:

   • Welcome students as they arrive and ensure they are engaged in activities.

   • Monitor student behavior and implement disciplinary measures when necessary.

   • Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere.

3. Safety and Compliance:

   • Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including emergency procedures.

   • Conduct regular safety checks of the facility and equipment and report findings to Before Care Coordinator

   • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and incidents.

4. Communication:

   • Communicate effectively with parents, addressing any concerns or questions.

   • Coordinate with school administration and teachers regarding student needs.

   • Provide regular updates on the program’s activities and progress.

   • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED)

• 1 Year of Experience in childcare

• Spanish speaking preferred

The CCSP benefits package is subject to the terms outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for members that are subject to the CBA. The benefits package for staff members that are not subject to the terms of the CBA is at the sole discretion of the Board of Trustees.
