Behavior Consultant - ABA

SUMMARY

The Behavior Consultant–ABA provides clinical services within the Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS ABA) program by conducting comprehensive assessments to identify each individual’s strengths, needs, and behavioral goals. Responsibilities include collecting, monitoring, and analyzing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) data to evaluate progress and inform clinical decision-making. The Behavior Consultant–ABA develops individualized, evidence-based treatment plans and behavior intervention strategies tailored to the unique needs of each individual and their family. In addition, they provide direct ABA treatment, monitor treatment fidelity and outcomes, collaborate with caregivers and interdisciplinary team members, train and support staff and family members in the implementation of interventions, maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, and make ongoing modifications to treatment plans based on data analysis and individual progress to promote meaningful skill development and improved functioning across home, school, and community settings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/MAJOR TASKS

  1. Conduct and complete Assessments.
  2. Complete mandatory training.
  3. Attend supervision per IBHS guidelines.
  4. Develop the ABA sessions and review clinical protocol.
  5. Review data and the analyzation of data.
  6. Ensure all program rules and regulations are followed.
  7. Develop individualized treatment plans.
  8. Ensure rooms are prepared and stimulus materials match client treatment goals.
  9. Monitor and change, if needed, the treatment conditions to ensure child engagement and progress.
  10. Provide family support and trainings as needed.
  11. Direct and monitor the treatment sessions.
  12. Provide ABA services to the child.
  13. Ensure data collection is collected accurately.
  14. Analyze data collected.
  15. Maintain compliance with IBHS regulations.
  16. Work cooperatively with families, caregivers, and team members to provide children with the best care and treatment.
  17. Follow Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) guidelines and codes of conduct.
  18. Attend team meetings, as needed
  19. Understands and adheres to established Excentia Human Services policies and procedures.
  20. Maintains ongoing confidential records of client files.
  21. Keep informed of new developments in the field of behavior analysis.
  22. Other job tasks as assigned.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Meet with the Clinical Director regularly.
  2. Report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies.
  3. Maintain confidentiality as per HIPAA and procedural safeguards.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

  5. Potential exposure to communicable childhood diseases and/or other communicable diseases.
  6. Client may carry fluid or blood-borne pathogens.
