Behavior Intervention Specialist

A Behavioral Intervention Specialist provides direct behavioral and therapeutic support to individuals in a structured day treatment setting. The specialist implements individualized treatment and behavior plans under the supervision of clinical staff to promote emotional regulation, positive behavior, and skill development.

Primary Duties:
  • Implement behavior intervention and treatment plans as assigned.
  • Support clients during group activities, classroom instruction, and therapeutic sessions.
  • Monitor behaviors and use approved de-escalation and behavior management strategies.
  • Collect and document behavioral data, progress notes, and incident reports.
  • Assist clients with coping skills, social skills, and daily routines.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with clinicians, teachers, and treatment team members.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, psychology, education, or a related field required, OR a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral or emotional needs
  • Experience working with children or adolescents with behavioral or emotional needs preferred.
  • Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
