We are seeking compassionate, energetic, and motivated Behavior Specialists to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will work directly with adults living with serious mental illness, providing support, structure, and encouragement as they build the skills needed for greater independence and successful community reintegration.
As a Behavior Specialist, you'll coach residents using evidence-based behavioral interventions, motivate participation in treatment, accompany community outings, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to create a safe, recovery-oriented environment. Every day offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while building valuable experience in behavioral health.
What You'll Do
- Implement behavior support plans, level systems, and token economy interventions
- Encourage participation in treatment and recovery activities
- Build positive therapeutic relationships with residents
- Monitor resident safety and respond appropriately to behavioral crises
- Document resident participation and progress
- Support residents with daily living activities as needed
- Participate in community reintegration outings
- Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists, social workers, and psychiatrists

Must Have:
- High School diploma
- Knowledge and ability to apply appropriate safety precautions and procedures in behavioral interventions.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and residents.
- Strong documentation and reporting skills to ensure compliance with care plans and regulations.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) environment.
- Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) or other electronic medical record systems.
- Additional certifications in behavioral health or therapeutic interventions.
- 1-3 years of experience working with individuals in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
