Job Summary

To operate and set up bending machines to bend sheet metal, plates, and other metal components as per engineering drawings, specified dimensions, quality standards, and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate bending machines, including press brake and sheet metal bending machines.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, job specifications, and bending instructions.
• Set up the machine by selecting the appropriate tools, dies, punches, and machine parameters.
• Perform bending operations according to specified angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Check the first piece and ensure dimensions and angles meet quality requirements.
• Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, measuring tapes, and angle gauges.
• Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy, surface defects, and bending quality.
• Follow production plans and achieve daily production targets.
• Maintain proper material identification and prevent material mix-ups.
• Follow safety procedures while operating machines and handling materials.
• Perform routine machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance.
• Report machine breakdowns, tool damage, and quality issues to the supervisor.
• Maintain production records and inspection reports as required.
• Keep the work area clean and organized according to 5S standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• ITI in Fitter, Sheet Metal, or a related technical trade preferred.
• Candidates with relevant machine operation experience may also be considered.
