Benefits Account Manager
NewBe an early applicantLeavitt Pacific Insurance Brokers in San Jose , CA is seeking an experienced and client-focused Employee Benefits Account Manager to serve as the primary service contact for an assigned portfolio of employee benefits clients. In this role, you will build strong client relationships, manage renewals and implementations, coordinate with carriers and vendors, resolve complex service issues, and support the overall growth and retention of client accounts.

As an Employee Benefits Account Manager, you will:
Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for assigned employee benefits clients.
Build and maintain trusted client relationships through responsive, knowledgeable, and proactive service.
Manage the annual renewal process, including gathering census data, obtaining carrier quotes, preparing comparisons, tracking deadlines, and implementing client decisions.
Partner with Producers to support account strategy, renewal presentations, stewardship meetings, retention efforts, and cross-selling opportunities.
Coordinate onboarding and implementation activities for new clients and benefit plans.
Review benefit summaries, enrollment materials, carrier documents, invoices, contracts, and employee communications for accuracy.
Assist with eligibility, enrollment, billing, claims, COBRA, and carrier service issues while ensuring timely resolution.
Prepare renewal analyses, spreadsheets, client presentations, proposals, and other account-management materials.
Support open enrollment activities, employee education, carrier coordination, and enrollment follow-up.
Maintain complete and accurate account documentation within agency management and workflow systems.
Collaborate with clients, carriers, vendors, benefit administration platforms, and internal team members.
Identify opportunities to enhance service delivery, improve processes, and strengthen client relationships.
Support department initiatives through teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning.
Required Qualifications
3-5+ years of employee benefits experience within a brokerage, consulting firm, insurance carrier, TPA, or benefits administration environment.
Current California Life and Health License.
Strong knowledge of group medical, dental, vision, life, disability, eligibility, enrollment, billing, claims, and COBRA administration.
Proven experience managing client relationships and employee benefits accounts.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing both small and large group employee benefits accounts.
Experience with annual renewals and marketing processes.
Familiarity with AMS360 and HealthConnect.
Experience working with benefit administration platforms and carrier portals.
Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.
