Compensation Analyst

Position Summary

The Compensation Analyst supports the administration, analysis, and continuous improvement of the organization's compensation programs. This role partner closely with Human Resources, Finance, Payroll, and our Operations business partners by leveraging data, market intelligence, and process expertise to ensure programs remain competitive, and compliant.

The Compensation Analyst is responsible for conducting compensation analyses, maintaining market data, supporting annual compensation cycles, developing reports and dashboards, analyzing workforce and compensation data, providing recommendations that support business objectives and talent strategies, and identifying opportunities to enhance employee experience through compensation.

Key Responsibilities

Compensation Administration & Analysis

· Conduct market pricing analyses using salary surveys and benchmarking tools.

· Support annual compensation planning processes, including merit increases, promotions, market adjustments, and incentive programs.

· Analyze internal and external compensation data to ensure pay competitiveness and pay equity.

· Evaluate job descriptions and assist with job leveling and position classifications.

· Develop compensation models and recommendations for new and existing positions.

· Prepare compensation reports, dashboards, and presentations for HR leadership and business stakeholders.

· Monitor compensation practices for compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Data Analytics, Reporting and Insights

· Develop, maintain, and distribute recurring and ad hoc compensation reports and dashboards.

· Create dashboards and visualizations that provide actionable insights for leadership.

· Utilize advance Excel functions, reporting tools, and data visualization platforms to analyze and present compensation data.

· Perform data audits to ensure accuracy and integrity across HRIS, payroll, and benefits systems.

· Analyze departmental data including census files and other datasets as necessary.

· Monitor benefits eligibility, enrollment, and compliance activities.

· Evaluate benefit program effectiveness and provide recommendations for enhancements.

· Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.

Process Improvement & Project Support

· Participate in HR technology implementations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives.

· Document business requirements and collaborate with HRIS, Finance, Payroll, and vendors to implement solutions.

· Support mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and organizational changes related to rewards programs.

· Recommend and implement process improvements that improve efficiency, compliance, and employee experience.

Compliance & Governance

· Support compliance activities related to compensation regulations.

· Maintain documentation, policies, procedures, and audit records.

· Assist with audits, regulatory reporting, and data requests.

· Stay current on compensation trends, legislation, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or related field.

· 3-5 years of experience in compensation, benefits, HR analytics, total rewards, or related HR functions.

· Experience working with HRIS, payroll, benefits administration, and reporting systems.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis, including xlookup.

· Experience creating reports and presentations for leadership.

· Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience supporting compensation and benefits programs in a large or multi-site organization.

· Knowledge of compensation survey methodologies and job evaluation practices.

· Experience with Dayforce, Microsoft Office.

· Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI.

· CCP (Certified Compensation Professional), Microsoft Excel Certified, or related certifications.

· Experience with pay equity analysis and compensation planning systems.
