BESS Project Engineer
Summary
Design and deliver battery energy storage systems (BESS) for real estate and industrial clients, from feasibility to commissioning, while optimizing energy data and AI-driven forecasts.
Drive the energy transition by providing sustainable technological solutions through our digital platform, facilitating from planning to contract tendering to implementation of renewable energy systems in real estate and industrial companies. We enable our customers to increase the economic efficiency and CO2 balance of their properties while minimizing technical, commercial, and energy risks.
To strengthen our Operations team, we are looking for an BESS Project Engineer who will contribute to the analysis of energy data, support the development of AI-based price and energy forecasts, and generate actionable insights through the analysis of operational and financial performance. Tasks
- Assess and document battery potential across enshift’s project pipeline.
- Carry out technical and commercial feasibility studies for BESS projects.
- Develop battery sizing, installation, grid-connection and operating concepts.
- Manage battery projects from initial assessment and offer preparation through contracting, technical planning, execution and commissioning.
- Define requirements and support the selection of BESS, EMS and medium-voltage station solutions.
- Coordinate customers, utilities, authorities, suppliers, installers and internal project teams.
- Establish repeatable processes and standards for developing and delivering battery projects.
Requirements
- Technical university degree in electrical engineering, energy engineering or a related field.
- Professional experience in renewable-energy, electrical-infrastructure or energy-storage projects.
- Good understanding of electrical systems, grid connections and technical project delivery.
- Experience with BESS, medium-voltage systems, EMS integration or project commissioning is an advantage.
- Fluent German and English; French or Italian would be an advantage.
- Structured and proactive personality with a strong sense of ownership.
