Beverage Server

POSITION SUMMARY

The employee in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both internal and external guests. To ensure the excellent serving of patrons in a timely manner and to assure quality guest service and a favorable gaming experience while controlling levels of intoxication.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, fun, and friendly environment for guests and employees.

  • Provides superior guest service, interacts positively with guests and employees, and can deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions. Works effectively and courteously with fellow employees.

  • Takes drink orders (both alcohol and non-alcoholic), enters orders, serves drinks, collects payment from patrons and keeps the well and self-serve areas clean and well maintained.

  • Safe distribution of alcohol. Follows company alcohol awareness guidelines for serving alcohol responsibly.

  • Follows sound cash handling practices.

  • Ensure the safety and security of employees and customers.

  • Responsible to have knowledge of patron limitations of alcohol consumption and company policy and procedure regarding serving alcohol responsibly.

  • Has a thorough knowledge of all special events and promotional activities. Assists guests with all reasonable requests.

  • Completes all company-required training within designated time frames.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, computer keyboard, telephone, use of all bar equipment, Micros, cash register and Easy Bar System.

  • Casino environment with exposure to temperatures that vary, noise, smoke and bright lights.

  • Ability to efficiently maneuver on Casino floor, around equipment and guests, while balancing a tray of drinks.

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for entire shift (except for designated breaks).

  • May include a boat and/or floating barge and/or a High-rise hotel.

  • Walking 80%, Standing 10%, Bending/Lifting 10% (up to 50 lbs).

  • Ability to be at work on time as scheduled on a regular basis which may include nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Be a customer experience owner, act in ways that will surprise and delight our guests. Leave guests with positive feelings about our property and establish/maintain relationships with them. Approach each situation with a “yes we can” attitude, every guest every time.

  • Subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.

  • Knowledge of all bar equipment. Easy Bar System, laws and regulations relating to serving alcohol and gaming.

  • Able to handle situations that may arise due to intoxication of guests.

  • Ability to communicate with all departments and fellow employees.

  • Knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe handling of alcohol.

  • Ability to perform assigned job duties in an interruptive environment under frequent time pressures.

  • Must complete and follow alcohol awareness training and guidelines.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent preferred

  • Six months experience in cocktail serving is preferred.

  • Able to obtain a gaming license.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
