BI Analytics Engineer
Summary
Datatech Analytics is hiring a BI Analytics Engineer in Berkshire to act as the central authority for its Power BI ecosystem: designing star-schema semantic models and the gold layer, productionising domain reports, governing company-wide metrics, and tuning DAX, deployment pipelines and row-level security for Finance, Financial Crime and Marketing.
You will act as the central authority for the Power BI ecosystem in a hub-and-spoke analytics model, bridging domain analysts and data engineering to deliver enterprise-grade, productionised reporting. You own the gold layer and governance around metrics, enabling accurate, scalable insights across functions. You will optimize performance and security, including DAX tuning, deployment pipelines, and row-level security. This role shapes how the organization uses BI to drive decisions in Finance, Financial Crime, and Marketing. An opportunity to impact enterprise reporting standards and data governance at scale.
Responsibilities- Own the Gold Layer: design and optimize semantic models and star-schema architectures for Power BI within a unified analytics platform
- Productionize Reports: move domain reports into central production and ensure quality
- Drive Metric Governance: establish and enforce a KPI glossary and metric consistency across the company
- Maximize Performance & Security: optimize DAX, set up deployment pipelines, configure row-level security (RLS)
- Hands-on experience productionising Power BI reports and managing live estates
- Deep expertise in DAX, dimensional modelling (star schema), and layered data architectures
- Strong SQL skills
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, or Azure Data Factory
