BI Backend Developer, BOLIA

As a BI Backend Consultant, reporting to BOLIA’s BI Manager, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining BOLIA’s reporting platform, which is a commercially important foundation that enables all BOLIA employees to track both personal and company KPIs and performance targets on a daily basis.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of BI back-end systems, including data pipelines, integrations, and core data models, as well as ensuring that all BI applications and processes run efficiently with high availability, in collaboration with both internal and external partners.

All of this is to support the business’ need for a modern and well-functioning IT platform. BOLIA’s IT platform is largely outsourced to external partners who provide BI front-end and back-end solutions, migration to Fabric, support, and development tasks within BI. Therefore, vendor contact and collaboration in this area will also be part of the role.

BOLIA currently operates a fully digitalized IT platform with a very high degree of cloud services. It is therefore essential that you have experience with cloud technologies, with a primary focus on Microsoft BI services and tools such as Power BI, SQL, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, and data modeling.

Your Responsibilities

• Elevate and develop the existing BI platform into a Microsoft Fabric setup by joining a dedicated project that is already well underway
• Insource relevant BI back-end tasks from an external vendor
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and backend BI solutions
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and performance across the reporting platform
• Advise and support stakeholders in the use of BI tools
• Identify and implement opportunities for automation and optimization, including AI support
• Cross-functional collaboration with other teams on data integration and analytics projects
• Maintenance and troubleshooting in existing BI systems
• Monitor and optimize system performance and uptime
• Safeguard sensitive business data by enforcing security best practices, including row-level security (RLS), access management, and compliance with internal data governance policies.
• Contribute to shaping and improving BI strategies and processes
• In collaboration with BOLIA’s BI Manager, develop BOLIA’s global BI platform so that it supports the business in the most optimal way
• In collaboration with BOLIA’s IT Business Platform Manager, develop and optimize BOLIA’s IT platform in the BI areas
• Vendor management and follow-up on project deliverables in collaboration with BOLIA’s BI Manager

Qualifications

• You have a desire to inspire and demonstrate the possibilities of using data and Business Intelligence to make better decisions.
• You are a master of PowerBI and data modeling, which is your home court, and have experience in other parts of Microsoft's BI suite.
• You have experience with SQL, SSIS and ETL-processes in general.
• You have experience with data sources like Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O and/or CE or similar.
• You are self-driven but still a team player and eager to acquire new knowledge.
• You have a great business understanding and can maintain an overview while also having an eye for detail.
• You always deliver high quality in what you do.
