BI Data Engineer

As a BI Data Engineer you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW), Data Lakes, and Data Lakehouse solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration workflows, and data virtualization solutions to integrate and manage diverse data sources.
- Design scalable data models and modern BI architectures that support reporting, analytics, and business requirements.
- Develop dashboards, KPIs, and self-service BI solutions that provide actionable insights to business stakeholders.
- Optimize database and platform performance through query tuning, indexing, partitioning, caching, and resource scaling.
- Implement data quality, observability, lineage, and governance practices while ensuring compliance with GDPR and security standards.
- Define and execute testing strategies, automate deployments through CI/CD, and manage BI platform configurations using infrastructure-as-code.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation, support data stewardship initiatives, and enable business users through certified datasets and training.
What would make you a fit for the role:
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) design and architecture, including dimensional modelling and star/snowflake schemas.
- Experience with Data Lake and Data Lakehouse architectures and scalable analytics platforms.
- Excellent knowledge of SQL and relational databases, with familiarity with NoSQL databases.
- Experience with BI, reporting, analytics, ETL/ELT, and data pipeline technologies, such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, dbt, Informatica, Talend, or Azure Data Factory.
- Knowledge of data modelling, OLAP, data integration, near-real-time ingestion, and Change Data Capture (CDC) technologies.
- Experience with cloud data and BI platforms, together with knowledge of data governance, data lineage, cataloguing, and data observability.
- Excellent English communication skills; knowledge of French is a plus.
- Certification is a strong plus: Microsoft Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate, Amazon Certified Data Analytics Specialty, or an equivalent certification.
