BI Developer
We welcome candidates from business intelligence, Power BI development, dashboard development, data visualization, reporting, and analytics-engineering backgrounds. Candidates do not need experience with every listed technology.
As the BI Developer, you will
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, scorecards, visualizations, and operational views.
- Work with mission stakeholders and Business Analysts to define meaningful key performance indicators, calculations, filters, drill-down paths, alerts, and role-specific information needs.
- Develop and optimize data models, semantic models, queries, measures, transformations, and refresh processes.
- Implement data validation, row-level security, access controls, performance optimization, usability, accessibility, and consistent visual standards.
- Integrate dashboards with approved data sources, applications, APIs, and platform services while maintaining traceability to authoritative data.
- Document metric definitions, data lineage, calculations, deployment procedures, testing evidence, and user guidance.
- Collaborate with data, integration, workflow, platform, testing, and security teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Current DoD 8140/8570-compliant baseline certification appropriate to the assigned position, such as Security+, CySA+, GSEC, SSCP, or another approved credential.
- U.S. citizenship.
- Three or more years of relevant experience in business intelligence, dashboard development, reporting, data visualization, analytics engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent education, training, certifications, and experience will be considered.
- Hands-on experience building dashboards or reports with at least one modern business-intelligence or visualization platform.
- Working knowledge of data modeling, calculations, queries, data validation, visualization design, performance optimization, and stakeholder-facing delivery.
- Experience supporting federal or DoD customers and Agile delivery teams.
- Experience with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, SQL, Dataverse, Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Tableau, Qlik, or comparable technologies.
- Familiarity with semantic models, data gateways, deployment pipelines, row-level security, data lineage, executive reporting, and operational dashboards.
- Relevant Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst, Fabric Analytics Engineer, or comparable certification.
