BI Developer
Summary
Designs and maintains BI reports, dashboards, and ETL processes using Power BI, SQL Server, and Snowflake to support healthcare operations and data analysis.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Developer to join our Business Intelligence team. The Business Intelligence Developer position works closely with developers and other subject-matter experts (SMEs) including physicians and clinical operations staff. The BI Developer is responsible for creating and optimizing reports, visualizations, dashboards, and metrics that power Lone Star Circle of Care (LSCC)’s suite of reports and analyses. This position will be required to travel to other LSCC facilities as needed. The Business Intelligence Developer will collaborate with employees at all levels within the organization, must be able to maintain professional working relationships, and provide excellent customer service.

A Day in the Life of a Support Analyst may look like this:
- Design, develop, and deploy BI solutions, including reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Write and optimize SQL queries and ETL stored procedures with Snowflake and SQL Server
- Analyze various types of technical and healthcare data, processes, and systems
- Create comprehensive documentation for new developments, updates, and enhancements for both developers and end-users
- Build low-code applications using the PowerApps platform
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all reporting platforms
- Perform quality assurance testing and audit business intelligence products
- Validate results and reconcile discrepancies with data and end user workflows
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to BI tools and data integration processes
- Support existing and create new Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes using SSIS
- Manage communication with both internal and external stakeholders
- Utilize and manage git repositories
- Perform other duties as assigned
We ask our Support Analyst to possess a minimum of:
- Demonstrated excellence in the technical skills required in one or more higher level programming languages (specifically SQL and/or a statistical or object-oriented language)
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications
The following experience/skills are preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field
- Two (2) years of T-SQL experience with a strong emphasis on Reporting and Aggregating
- Working Knowledge of Visual Studio and of Python
- Experience with process improvement/automation and data visualization software such as Power BI
- Experience using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or similar report tools
- Statistics experience (particularly experience with R or SAS) 2
- Working knowledge of healthcare terminology and structured vocabularies (e.g. ICD, CPT, NDC, etc.)
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and the associated tables
- Experience with Collaboration tools like SharePoint or MS Teams
- Knowledge of data warehousing
