Bilingual Area Human Resources Manager - Dulles Region
Responsibilities:
- Position Summary:
- The Area Human Resource Manager is responsible to ensure that sound and consistent personnel practices are applied for all employees through compliance with all company human resource policies, and state, local and Federal legislation. This position requires active and vigorous leadership in all interactions with team members, guests and the community. Focus on Our Quality Pledge, Standards of Service, and the company’s Mission Statement is of paramount importance.
- This position is responsible for managing all HR responsibilities for multiple hotel properties in the Dulles region, under the direction of the Area Human Resources Director.
- Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide for impartial treatment to all team members through proper personnel practices and employment policies throughout organization.
- Ensure recruitment of the most qualified exempt applicants through proper administration of the employment function. This includes knowledge of pre-employment laws such as EEO/AAP/ADA/Immigration.
- Maintains a professional and ethical image for all staff members within the organization.
- Protect the "owners" from any team member litigation.
- Provides the tools to ensure team member satisfaction through training, such as orientation, technical skills training, management development training and interpersonal skills training.
- Directs and administers team member relations to facilitate morale.
- Directs wage and salary program to attract and retain qualified personnel.
- Function as a key member of the property’s management team.
- Provide effective, confidential administrative support to the General Manager.
- Maintain liaison between all departments, the General Manager and Corporate Human Resources.
- Provide direct assistance to team members and guests when appropriate
- Performance Standards:
- Meet planned team member turnover goals as stated in Mission Statement from prior year and measured by Turn-over Report
- The timely achievement of specific action plans detailed in Annual Goals and Actions Worksheet.
- Effective implementation of company HR policy and procedures as measured by the Performance Appraisal system.
- Keep hotel in compliance with all EEO/AAP/ADA/FMLA/INS/OSHA, etc. regulations.
- Satisfactory achievement on Human Resource section of Progress Report audits.
Position Requirements:
- Experience: 1-2 years of progressive experience and track record of success in hotel, private business, or government, including specific Human Resources responsibilities.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in both English and Spanish. Ability to provide oral and written translation between Spanish and English.
- Education: College degree preferred
- Desirable Qualifications:
- Human Resources experience in a hotel (minimum 100 employees).
- Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Certification through Educational Institute or through SHRM.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.

The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held. Base pay is one component of B. F. Saul Company & Affiliates total compensation package, which also includes access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, bonus plans and more.
