The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting a broad range of HR functions, including compliance with company policies and labor laws. This role supports recruitment, employee relations, benefits and leave administration, learning and development, disciplinary procedures, employee engagement, HR recordkeeping, and the development and maintenance of HR policies and procedures. This position requires strong bilingual (Spanish/English) communication skills to support a diverse workforce, and the ability to leverage AI-based tools to improve HR processes and efficiency. This position will be detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple HR responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Employee Relations:
- Support employee relations by addressing concerns, providing guidance on company policies, and facilitating conflict resolution in both English and Spanish.
- Conduct fact-finding investigations when employees bring relative situations forward.
- Conduct new hire employee feedback meetings.
- Conduct employee exit interviews and document feedback.
- Serve as a bilingual (Spanish/English) resource for employees and leadership, providing translation and interpretation support for HR communications, meetings, and documentation as needed.
Compliance/HR Support:
- Assist in the recruitment process by screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and conducting new hire orientations.
- Process personnel action forms based on employee pay changes, job changes, status changes, etc.
- Maintain accurate employee records.
- Perform periodic audits to ensure compliance.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, OSHA regulations, and company policies.
- Coordinate and assist with training programs, employee development, and safety initiatives.
- Assist in monitoring employee attendance records.
- Draft, develop, update, and help implement company HR policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with current employment law and business needs.
- Utilize AI-based HR tools and software (e.g., generative AI platforms, applicant tracking systems, and HRIS-integrated tools) to support recruitment, documentation, reporting, and process efficiency.
Leave Management:
- Administer and manage employee leave of absence programs, including FMLA, STD/LTD, personal leave, military leave, and other statutory or company-provided leave.
- Track leave balances and usage, and communicate eligibility requirements and status updates to employees and managers.
- Coordinate leave paperwork and medical certifications, and liaise with third-party leave administrators; ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and company leave policies.
- Support return-to-work coordination and accommodation requests in partnership with management.
Employee Engagement:
- Support HR initiatives such as employee engagement programs, diversity and inclusion efforts, and workforce planning.
- Assist in planning and organizing company events that reinforce company culture.
- Collaborate with management on ideas for engagement activities.
Benefits:
