BILINGUAL PHYSICIAN SUPPORT SPECIALIST
The Bilingual Physician Support Specialist travels with Dr. Joseph and maintains effective and organized systems to ensure effective scheduling and timely patient flow. Provides a smooth and pleasant patient experience and ensures physician’s office schedule is organized and efficient. This is a non-clinical, administrative role.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinates Physician’s schedule to maximize efficiency between clinics, surgeries, meetings, and conference calls and administratively assists to keep Provider on task, ensuring smooth workflow and continuity of appointments
- Communicates effectively and flexibly responds to changing demands with multiple departments.
- Triages telephone messages and returns calls to provide timely answers to patients / physicians / pharmacies / attorneys / vendors, etc.
- Collaborates with coworkers, management, patients, visitors, and Physicians to achieve Practice goals.
- Rooms, interviews, and coordinates with patients making appointment and scheduling adjustments as required.
- Addresses scheduling, authorization, and billing issues with an appropriate sense of urgency to ensure prompt and successful resolutions.
- Performs other administrative duties as directed or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 2-3 years spine experience working in an orthopedic spine practice, pain management center, clinic, or hospital
- Bilingual verbal and written (Fluent in English/Spanish) required
- Translates patient discussions/documents between Spanish and English-speaking patients, physicians, and clinical staff as authorized by HIPAA
- Ability to effectively understand, follow, and communicate oral and written instructions in English. Must read, write, and speak English fluently to ensure clear work-related communication and patient safety
- Works effectively both independently and as a team member with physicians, management, and other staff
- Provides excellent patient customer service, and practices professional interpersonal etiquette
- Utilizes good judgment, willingness to learn, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Organized, reliable, punctual, and courteous team player with an empathetic demeanor and positive attitude
- Remains calm under pressure and manages time efficiently in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment
- Superior attention to detail, accurate written skills, and concise verbal communication skills
- Able to reliably travel between Tampa, Safety Harbor, (and St. Pete twice per month) as clinic schedules dictate
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, AllScripts PM/EHR, and Phreesia software preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Able to spend prolonged periods sitting at a desk while working on a computer, standing, and walking
