Billing & Reporting Analyst
Summary
Analyzes and improves billing, collections, and reporting processes for an energy provider using Power BI, SQL, and process mapping tools to automate workflows and deliver management insights.
Department: Billing
Employment Type: Full time
Location: Hybrid - Sandyford, Dublin 18
Salary: 45-50k OTE
The Billing & Reporting Analyst maps current working practices end to end — across billing assurance, exception handling, collections and payment arrangements — to give us a single, accurate view of how work flows. From that baseline, the role owns a quarterly roadmap of process improvements, worked jointly with the internal development team to increase automation, reduce manual effort, lift team capacity and output, and minimise operational and regulatory risk.
The role also builds a centralised reporting view covering management information (MI) and daily operational work queues.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Mapping & Improvement
- Assess and document current working practices end to end, capturing all process steps and touch points across the operational streams using appropriate process mapping tools.
- Identify inefficiencies, manual effort and control gaps, and translate them into prioritised improvement opportunities.
- Develop and own a quarterly roadmap of process improvements with the internal development team, targeting increased automation, reduced manual effort, greater capacity and lower operational and regulatory risk and facilitate workshops to validate current state maps, agree target-state designs and secure sign-off.
Centralised Reporting & MI
- Design, build and maintain a centralised reporting view covering management information and daily operational work queues, using tools including Power BI and SQL to track key performance across billing and collections.
- Own data quality within reporting outputs (source validation and reconciliation against the system of record), provide data-driven recommendations and track adoption.
Business Analysis & Requirements
- Gather, document and validate business requirements for Billing & Collections change, working with stakeholders across IT, Operations, Finance and Customer Experience.
- Produce business cases ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and aligned to Yuno Energy / PrepayPower needs, and take requirements through to sign-off ahead of delivery.
Change Pipeline & Governance
- Coordinate and track the change pipeline (bugs, defects and feature requests), champion operational priorities through to delivery, and provide regular structured updates on performance to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Change & Systems Support
- Support testing and UAT, coordinate implementation through delivery, and verify that changes to billing, CRM and collections systems meet regulatory, industry and internal control standards before sign-off.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
Essential
- Proven experience in a business analysis, process improvement or reporting role, ideally within utilities, financial services or another regulated, high-volume operational environment.
- Strong process mapping skills, with hands-on experience using recognised tools to capture and maintain end-to-end process maps.
- Strong reporting and analytics capability, including Power BI and SQL, with the ability to build and maintain dashboards and operational reporting from source data.
- Sound data quality discipline (source validation and reconciliation against systems of record) and the ability to write clear business requirements and business cases and take them through to sign-off.
- Confident communicator able to influence technical and non-technical audiences and run workshops, and well organised enough to manage a change pipeline and quarterly roadmap alongside day-to-day delivery.
Desirable
- Working knowledge of the Irish energy market, including billing, collections and regulatory obligations (CRU).
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (CRM Evo or equivalent), Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Power Automate) and case management tooling.
- Exposure to automation and low-code tooling, ideally gained working alongside an internal development team through the full change lifecycle.
