Job Title: Medical Billing Specialist – Patient Accounts (Full-Time)
Location: Lincoln, NE (on-site)
Pay: $20 per hour, based on experience
Job Type: Full-time, weekdays

What You’ll Do

• Post insurance and patient payments (ERA, EOB, card, and portal) and balance the books at the end of each day
• Be a friendly, knowledgeable voice for patients with billing questions, in person and by phone
• Set up payment plans and provide Good Faith Estimates for self-pay patients
• Follow up on unpaid claims, including workers’ compensation, and help resolve denials
• Manage monthly patient statements and the past-due account process
• Process refunds and credit balances
• Pitch in at the front desk when the team needs an extra hand

What You’ll Bring

• 1–3 years of experience in medical billing, patient accounts, or a medical office business role
• Comfort reading EOBs and working through the billing cycle
• Strong math skills and a sharp eye for detail
• A calm, kind approach to conversations about money
• Solid Excel and Word skills, and the ability to learn new software quickly
• High school diploma or GED

Bonus Points For

• An associate’s degree in business, accounting, or healthcare administration
• A billing credential (CPB, CBCS, or CRCR)
• Experience with Medicare, Nebraska Medicaid, and commercial payers
• Familiarity with TriZetto or similar clearinghouse platforms
