Billing System Engineer (Comarch BSS / SQL / Kafka)

For the project that we are working on with our partner, we are looking for Billing System Engineer (Comarch BSS / SQL / Kafka).

Your duties will include:

• Maintain and configure the Comarch BSS platform, particularly Product Catalog, Billing and Billing Mediation
• Monitor platform performance, system jobs, error logs and runtime incidents.
• Investigate data inconsistencies, troubleshoot technical issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Monitor system interfaces and integrations to ensure reliable end-to-end data flows.
• Support backup and recovery processes to ensure system stability and availability.
• Configure data connections and integrations, taking technical ownership after implementation.
• Support audit controls, security requirements and compliance-related activities.
• Contribute to platform upgrades, patches and the implementation of new functionalities.
• Run Proofs of Concept (PoCs), follow the BSS roadmap and maintain technical documentation.
• Use AI tools to support log analysis, SQL query optimisation, documentation and troubleshooting.

Requirements that must be met:

• At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Comarch BSS, particularly Product Catalog, Billing or Billing Mediation.
• Strong practical knowledge of SQL, including data analysis, record tracing and troubleshooting.
• At least 2 years of experience with enterprise system integrations and integration tools.
• Good understanding of billing processes, including invoicing, rating and usage-based billing.
• Experience working with Oracle or PostgreSQL databases and Elasticsearch.
• Practical experience with Linux, REST API testing and Apache Kafka.
• Experience troubleshooting complex system issues and analysing integration failures.
• Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or GitHub Copilot and their practical application in everyday engineering work.
