BIM Coordinator (ARCH)
Job Summary
The BIM Modeller / Coordinator works closely with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure BIM models are accurate, properly coordinated, and compliant with project requirements, BIM standards, and the BIM Execution Plan (BEP). The role also supports BIM coordination meetings, model reviews, clash detection, design changes, and the preparation of construction and as-built documentation.
Job Scope / Key Responsibilities
BIM Modelling
- Develop and maintain accurate architectural BIM models using Autodesk Revit and other relevant BIM software.
- Produce architectural plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and construction drawings from BIM models.
- Develop models in accordance with project BIM standards, modelling guidelines, naming conventions, and required LOD.
- Update BIM models based on design changes, site conditions, RFIs, and project requirements.
- Ensure model and drawing information is accurate, complete, and up to date.
BIM Coordination
- Coordinate architectural BIM models with structural, MEP, façade, landscape, and other discipline models.
- Perform model reviews and clash detection to identify design, spatial, and technical coordination issues.
- Review and resolve clashes and coordination issues in collaboration with relevant disciplines.
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings and follow up on outstanding coordination matters.
- Assist in preparing and maintaining clash reports, coordination reports, and issue tracking.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to develop coordinated solutions.
- Review other discipline models to identify potential conflicts with architectural elements and requirements.
- Ensure agreed coordination changes are properly incorporated into the BIM model.
Construction & Site Coordination
- Support the project team in resolving BIM-related technical and construction coordination issues.
- Coordinate architectural details and interfaces between different building elements and disciplines.
- Assist with site verification and update BIM models based on actual site conditions.
- Review shop drawings and subcontractor BIM models where required to ensure consistency with the coordinated design.
- Assist in resolving discrepancies between architectural drawings, BIM models, and site conditions.
Documentation & BIM Management
- Prepare drawings and BIM deliverables for design development, authority submission, tender, construction, and as-built purposes.
- Maintain BIM models, drawings, families, templates, and project files in an organised manner.
- Ensure compliance with the project BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and company BIM standards.
- Assist the BIM Manager / BIM Coordinator in maintaining model quality and coordination standards.
- Carry out regular model health checks and ensure models are properly structured and maintained.
- Assist in managing model revisions and ensuring the latest information is used for project delivery.
Communication & Teamwork
- Coordinate effectively with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and project teams.
- Attend coordination meetings and provide technical input on BIM and architectural modelling matters.
- Communicate BIM issues clearly and follow up with relevant parties until resolution.
- Support the BIM Manager / BIM Coordinator in achieving project BIM objectives and delivery schedules.
- Perform other BIM modelling and coordination duties as assigned.
