BIM Coordinator cum Modeller
Key Responsibilities
1. BIM Model Creation & Development
- Develop detailed 3D BIM models for architectural and structural elements from design drawings, sketches, and specifications.
- Ensure models are accurate, clash-free, and adhere to project standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and industry best practices.
- Integrate architectural and structural models with other disciplines (MEP, civil) to create a comprehensive federated model.
- Develop discipline-specific BIM content and families as required.
2. Coordination & Collaboration
- Participate actively in BIM coordination meetings, identify clashes and inconsistencies, and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, other discipline modelers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure design intent and constructability.
- Communicate design changes and model updates to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
3. Documentation & Deliverables
- Generate high-quality 2D drawings, plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and details directly from BIM models for tender, construction, shop drawings, and as-built stages.
- Assist in producing material take-offs and quantity schedules from BIM models.
- Ensure all documentation is consistent with the model and project standards.
4. Quality Control & Assurance
- Conduct regular quality checks and audits of BIM models to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company and project standards.
- Implement and uphold BIM standards, protocols, and workflows throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain organized BIM documentation, version control, and file management.
5. Problem Solving & Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve BIM-related issues during the modelling process.
- Provide technical support and guidance on BIM software and workflows to team members.
- Stay updated with the latest BIM technologies, software advancements, and industry trends.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of proven experience as a BIM Modeler/Coordinator, specifically with architectural and structural projects.
- Experience in large-scale infrastructure or building construction projects preferred.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Architecture & Structure modules), AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage (clash detection), and BIM 360 or similar cloud collaboration platforms.
- Understanding of Level of Development (LOD) concepts in BIM.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, construction methods, and industry standards.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to collaborate across disciplines.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
