POSITION PURPOSE

The BIM Coordinator - Engineer plays a critical role in coordinating project BIM models, ensuring accuracy, clash detection, model integrity, and seamless collaboration between engineering, projects, and subcontractor teams.

The BIM Coordinator - Engineer supports the digital delivery of MEP projects — managing BIM workflows, model updates, and documentation, from model coordination and clash resolution through drawing support and compliance with BIM standards — while facilitating smooth communication between all BIM stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Model Coordination & Development

• Coordinate and update BIM models for MEP systems using Revit / AutoCAD.

• Support development of 3D models at various Levels of Development (LOD) based on project requirements.

• Ensure adherence to BIM execution plans, project standards, and naming conventions.

• Consolidate and coordinate models received from multiple disciplines and subcontractors.

• Track model submission schedules against the overall project programme.

• Maintain a single source of truth for the federated project model.

2. Clash Detection & Issue Resolution

• Perform clash detection using Navisworks or similar tools.

• Prepare clash reports, highlight issues, and coordinate resolution with internal and external teams.

• Maintain clash logs and track closure timelines.

• Chair or support clash-resolution meetings with design and execution teams.

• Escalate unresolved clashes impacting schedule or cost to the BIM Manager.

• Verify resolved clashes are updated and reflected in the federated model.

3. Drawing & Documentation Support

• Support preparation of shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built models.

• Ensure all drawings are properly documented, updated, and traceable.

• Collaborate with site teams for verification and model updates.

• Maintain a structured document control system for all BIM deliverables.

• Extract quantities and schedules from coordinated models to support planning and procurement.

4. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with engineering, site execution, planning, and subcontractor teams.

• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and present updates as required.

• Facilitate smooth communication between all BIM stakeholders.

• Coordinate subcontractor model submissions and ensure timely integration into the federated model.

5. Quality, Standards & Process Compliance

• Ensure model accuracy, quality, and compliance with client and project standards.

• Support BIM audits, reviews, and adherence to data validation protocols.

• Assist in implementing best practices and continuous improvements in BIM workflows.

• Ensure 100% compliance with the project's BIM Execution Plan (BEP).

6. Technical Support & Training

• Provide support to team members on BIM tools and workflows.

• Assist in training users and promoting BIM adoption across teams.

• Troubleshoot modelling and coordination issues raised by project teams.

• Mentor BIM Modellers on standards, workflows, and best practices.

7. Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

• Prepare and circulate periodic BIM coordination and clash status reports to stakeholders.

• Present model coordination updates in client and internal review meetings.

• Maintain transparent communication with the BIM Manager on model risks and delays.

• Support preparation of BIM deliverable trackers for project reviews.

8. Team Engagement & Governance

• Build a culture of continuous learning by sharing BIM knowledge and best practices with the team.

• Adhere to SOCH principles, including a minimum of 1 SOCH / community service experience per month.

• Maintain data integrity and confidentiality of project models and drawings.

• Be available to support multiple projects across Mumbai Head Office and project sites as required.

EDUCATION

• Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or Architecture (Mandatory).

• Professional certification in BIM / Revit / Navisworks is an added advantage.

EXPERIENCE (MANDATORY)

• 3–6 years of experience in BIM modelling and coordination, in MEP / Data Centre / EPC projects.

• Proven experience coordinating models across multiple disciplines and subcontractor teams.

• Strong proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and BIM 360, with the ability to manage multiple models, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations.

• Good understanding of MEP systems and construction workflows.

• Strong knowledge of / exposure to:

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS

Candidates without demonstrable BIM coordination experience across multiple disciplines on Revit / Navisworks (or equivalent) will not be considered.
