Summary
VFP Inc is hiring an on-site BIM Family Designer at its Roanoke, VA headquarters to design, build, and maintain Autodesk Revit family libraries used to create shelter designs, working from sketches, vendor cut sheets, and customer drawings and gathering feedback from structural and electrical designers. Occasional travel possible.
Responsible for the design, development, alteration, and/or modification of Revit libraries that are utilized to create shelter designs. Obtains feedback from structural and electrical designers on the functionality of family objects for the design and maintenance of the objects.
- Develop BIM models for the Revit library based on experience, sketches, and verbal information from others. Including but not limited to information obtained from vendor cut sheets, bid letters, customer specifications, and customer supplied drawings.
- Ensure libraries are projects are maintained, meet standards, and provide the desired functionality in models.
- Assist in development and documentation of Revit library standards.
- Develop strong interdepartmental relationships and open communication lines to assure efficient problem resolution
- Possible travel as needed.
- Performs other assigned duties as required by management.
