BIM Lead (building construction)
Summary
Leads a BIM team to create and maintain digital building models and construction drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, ensuring standards and timelines are met.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Standards & Governance
- Uphold and continuously improve corporate BIM standards, methodology, and operational procedures
- Maintain and disseminate Corporate and Project BEP (BIM Execution Plan) guidelines
- Align BIM workflows with project team timelines and deliverables
Team & Stakeholder Leadership
- Lead the assigned BIM team, coordinating closely with developers, project site teams, consultants, sub-contractors, and internal departments
- Drive collaboration and information-sharing across all stakeholders on BIM tasks and deliverables
Digital Modelling & Documentation
- Develop and maintain high-quality, multi-disciplinary digital models (Architecture, Structural, MEP, Underground Systems, Prefab, Earthworks, Landscape, Simulation, Mock-up, Showroom) across all project phases, including Construction and As-Built
- Incorporate construction sequencing, resource data, and phasing based on the project master programme
- Conduct model coordination and quality control checks with internal and external stakeholders
- Keep models and associated documentation (detailing, shop drawings) current throughout the project lifecycle
- Extract quantities and object data schedules to support cost planning and estimation
Timeline & Deliverables Management
- Develop and maintain a realistic Project Look-Ahead timeline in line with Corporate BEP
- Ensure team-wide adherence to project timelines
- Promptly close out ad-hoc deliverables
Documentation Output
- Produce and distribute construction-related drawings (Construction Drawings, Shop Drawings, As-Built, etc.) in both digital and hardcopy formats, per BIM standards and Project BEP
Job Requirements
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and actively participate in BIM-related project discussions
- Experience mentoring and guiding junior staff on modelling compliance and standards
Software Proficiency
- Primary: Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Secondary: Dynamo, SketchUp, FormIt, Recap, Vehicle Tracking
