BIM Manager
Job Responsibilities
BIM Implementation and Management
- Oversee and manage the overall implementation of BIM across projects.
- Establish, implement and maintain BIM standards, protocols, workflows and best practices in accordance with project and company requirements.
- Develop and manage project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEP) in collaboration with project teams.
- Establish and manage BIM workflows, model integration and coordination across different disciplines.
- Monitor the effective implementation and utilisation of BIM throughout the project lifecycle.
- Evaluate and implement new BIM technologies and tools to improve project efficiency and outcomes.
Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead, manage and mentor BIM Coordinators, BIM Modellers and other BIM-related personnel.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders to ensure effective BIM integration throughout the design and construction process.
- Lead and facilitate BIM coordination meetings, including model reviews, clash detection and resolution.
- Provide BIM-related training, guidance and technical support to project teams and staff.
Project Coordination and Quality Control
- Ensure BIM models and associated data are accurate, consistent and of the required quality throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and validate BIM models for accuracy, completeness and compliance with project requirements and BIM standards.
- Monitor BIM-related schedules, submissions and deliverables to ensure timely completion.
- Conduct quality control checks, including clash detection, model validation and coordination between different disciplines.
- Identify and resolve BIM-related coordination issues and discrepancies in collaboration with the relevant project teams.
BIM Software and System Management
- Manage and maintain BIM software and platforms, including Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360 and other relevant BIM tools.
- Coordinate with IT and relevant departments to ensure BIM software and systems are properly maintained, updated and integrated with project workflows.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot BIM software and system-related issues where required.
Process Improvement and Innovation
- Continuously review and improve BIM processes, workflows and standards to enhance project efficiency and productivity.
- Research and evaluate emerging BIM technologies, tools and industry practices for potential implementation.
- Monitor BIM performance and gather feedback from project teams to identify areas for improvement.
- Recommend and implement improvements to BIM workflows, processes and systems.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate BIM progress, coordination issues and key developments to clients, consultants and other project stakeholders.
- Provide technical BIM support and guidance to external partners, clients and consultants where required.
- Coordinate BIM-related requirements and deliverables with project stakeholders.
- Ensure BIM models, documentation and deliverables are prepared and submitted in accordance with project and client requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in BIM management or related roles in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry.
- Proven experience leading BIM teams and managing large-scale projects
- Experience with BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, AutoCAD, and other related tools.
- Strong knowledge of BIM standards, protocols, and processes (e.g., ISO 19650, BIM Level 2).
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Strong leadership abilities and experience in team management.
- Proficiency in data management and model coordination.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and provide support to team members.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of construction and design workflows, including clash detection, coordination, and integration.
