This role implements and oversees BIM processes and standards, leads modelling technical excellence for the team and provides guidance and support to staff on all BIM‑related matters.

With approximately 10 years of experience, the BIM Manager acts as the primary technical authority for model development, quality assurance and digital coordination across projects.

What you'll be doing:

  • Oversee BIM functionalities, practices and procedures for assigned projects; provide BIM expertise and guidance and confirm BIM accessibility and data accuracy through regular quality reviews/checks.

  • Manage technical excellence in model delivery, including guidance for team/support staff, preparation of model assurance reports, drafting special provisions and reviewing models for compliance with standards and project requirements.

  • Lead complex plan and model production by applying a risk‑averse approach while reviewing models and proposals, and recommending mitigation measures for identified risks.

  • Lead efforts to streamline and optimise existing BIM processes and workflows, guiding task execution, team coordination and solution efficiency.

  • Provide input for delivery estimates and implement standard practices, resources and templates for developing model and drawing deliverable estimates.

  • Serve as subject matter expert and primary contact to client(s) on all technical modelling and BIM process matters.

  • Manage hardware, software and database maintenance schedules and tasks related to BIM and CAD environments to maintain optimal performance and reliability.

  • Participate in budget and cost forecasting analysis for BIM‑related activities in support of the management team.

  • Collaborate with project teams for effective model integration across disciplines (architecture, structure, MEP, civil, systems).

  • Provide BIM‑related input to clients and other parties working on the same project, ensuring consistent and coordinated digital delivery.

  • Support preparation of competitive technical and commercial proposals, providing BIM methodology, scope, resource and risk input; review, identify and propose mitigation for BIM‑related risks within the proposed scope.

  • Generate detailed BIM reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), model quality metrics and coordination status.

  • Perform in an advisory capacity to senior management on BIM strategy, tools, workflows and resourcing.

  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What required skills you'll bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline (Architecture, Engineering or related field), or equivalent work experience.

  • Approximately 10 years of related work experience in BIM modelling, coordination or digital delivery, including several years in a lead or management capacity.

  • Ability to clearly define and provide technical guidance on BIM queries to clarify scope ambiguities and modelling requirements.

  • Proven skill in developing complex designs, plan details and modelling activities using BIM tools.

  • Ability to perform in an operational lead capacity for model development and production management.

  • Ability to supervise modelling plan production, detailing and use of advanced modelling software.

  • Experienced in reviewing output, assessing production capacity and capability, and using checklists/reports to apply and refine advanced modelling principles.

  • Ability to communicate modelling technical and non‑technical subjects clearly with management, engineering and production staff.

  • Expert knowledge of core BIM software packages and workflows (e.g. Autodesk RevitAutodesk Revit and related tools).

  • Strong management and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple model authors and stakeholders.

  • Ability to develop baseline schedules for modelling tasks at the start of each assignment, track team progress against task assignments, coordinate staffing plans, develop comprehensive training plans and guide staff to produce well‑organised deliverables.

  • Expert understanding of Quality Assurance and Quality Control practices for BIM; able to guide the team in implementing QA/QC procedures.

  • Proficiency in conducting model production and assessing task team capacity and capability.

  • Proficiency in implementing clash detection and coordination within single disciplines, with awareness of multidisciplinary coordination requirements.

  • Ability to stay engaged with current technology and industry trends as they apply to BIM, CAD and common data environments.

  • Ability to provide advanced support, lead and direct staff in using Common Data Environments (CDE) (e.g. ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction CloudAutodesk Construction Cloud), CAD and BIM software.

  • Expert proficiency in essential BIM and CAD processes and best practices in development, compliance and implementation.

  • Experience supervising catalogue compliance, development and use (e.g. 2D symbology, families, parametric components, parts, sub‑assemblies).

What desired skills you'll bring:

  • BIM‑related certification (e.g. AutodeskAutodesk Certified Professional, recognised BIM Manager certification) is preferred.
