The Bindery Helper assists with the various operations of our Bindery/Finishing department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in operating the shop machinery and equipment.

  • Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.

  • Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.

  • Measure workpiece dimensions to determine the accuracy of machine operation.

  • Remove defective products from workpiece.

  • Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.

  • Set up and perform maintenance on machines.

  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervision

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in a bindery preferred.

  • Must be able to complete and pass Public Trust Security Clearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • May be required to frequently lift up to 50 lbs

  • Hand dexterity and strength.

  • Flexibility in work hours may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works on the production floor in an industrial warehouse setting.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
