Summary
Works with investigators to develop research protocols, compile and clean data, create and manage databases, conduct analysis on data utilizing specialized statistical computer programs (SAS, SPSS, R), and prepare deliverables (reports, abstracts/posters, manuscripts) to present research results in specialties such as clinical healthcare, public health, education, mental health, and/or social/behavioral sciences. Assists with creation of and provides educational sessions regarding research design and analysis for the medical and research staff throughout the network.
Job Duties
- Works as a team member with medical staff, the research staff and other clinicians throughout the network in the planning, design, and analysis of research projects.
- Manipulates complex data sets through programming with statistical analysis software for testing and documentation and assists clinical clients in interpreting results of data analysis and then creates deliverables such as reports, abstracts/posters, and manuscripts for publication.
- Serves as a member of the NORI Feasibility Team by reviewing research studies submitted through the Fast Track pathway for feasibility, adherence to institutional policies, and sound research practices and then provides constructive feedback to investigators to help improve the quality and feasibility of their study.
- Collaborates in the management and maintenance of LVHN's REDCap application including testing of REDCap and reporting findings to Information Services (IS) colleagues prior to upgrading to newer versions, creating new user accounts and addressing any end user questions.
- Develops and provides educational sessions regarding research design and data analysis to staff and clinicians throughout the network.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, public health, or other related fields.
- 1 year in research environment (health related research, clinical trials and/or investigator initiated research) analyzing and/or designing research studies.
- Proficient in the use of statistical computer programs (SAS, SPSS, R), as well as the use of statistical methods and concepts including, but not limited, to descriptive and inferential statistics, contingency table analyses, regression modeling (linear and logistic), and sample size/power analysis and epidemiologic principles such as relative risk, odds ratios, and confounding.
- Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and colleagues to provide a comprehensive approach to effectively achieve research results and goals.
- Excellent attention and accuracy with details.

- Experience utilizing REDCap.
Physical Demands
Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
