Position Summary:
This is a Union position.
Responsible for assisting the Events Operations Manager and Sr. Birthday Associate in coordinating and facilitating CMP hosted Birthday Parties and ensuring the effective operation of the overall program. The primary responsibility of the position is setup and tear down the party rooms, assist clients and guests throughout the party, facilitate and execute activities, and finalize sales.
Essential Job Duties:
- Assist the Sr. Birthday Associate in the overseeing of birthday client reservations
- Secondary point of contact for birthday party inquiries and bookings.
- Primary coverage for Sr. Birthday Associate when dictated by schedule.
- Assist in managing reservations between the museum and birthday clients.
- Onsite presence during birthday parties.
- Opening and closing the party rooms to ensure the party space is safe, clean, and enjoyable to visit.
- Monitor each party to ensure it stays on schedule.
- Ensures proper care, movement and storage of all equipment and supplies.
- Inspects equipment and supplies for damage and inventory after use, communicates restocking needs with Sr. Birthday Associate.
- Ensures that activities in the party spaces are appropriately organized and prepared for the next client or internal use of space (e.g. camps and alternative rentals).
- Provide knowledgeable, in the moment solutions to challenges that may arise relating to clients' needs.
- Provides the highest level of service to the clients.
- Ability to gauge guests' needs and accommodate accordingly.
- Assist in implementation and execution of activities for the party guests.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including both public and private spaces.
- Follows appropriate safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
- Ensure museum and grounds are returned to pre-party condition.
- Ensure birthday clients have fulfilled contractual obligations, including receipt of final payment.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Cross training in admissions and the museum store.
- Understand, follow, and enforce museum policies and procedures.
- Ability to support and facilitate emergency procedures (i.e. fire evacuation, accident reporting).
- Follows appropriate safety and security procedures and uses equipment and materials properly.
- Flexibility and willingness to cross train in multiple departments.
- Assist with execution of Event Rentals as needed.

Job Qualifications:
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- Personal or professional experience working with children.
- Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
Skills:
- Organized and self-motivated.
- Outgoing personality.
- Strong sense of time management to effectively maximize productivity and timeline.
- Flexible mindset, enjoys problem solving.
- Problem solving skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic awareness and understanding of sales agreements.
- Basic understanding of cash handling and PCI compliance.
Physical Requirements & Equipment Usage:
- Moves about museum areas on a regular, consistent basis to set-up parties, monitor parties, and breakdown parties.
- Occasionally works in outdoor areas, under moderate to unfavorable weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 20 lbs regularly and up to 60 lbs with assistance. Preparation and set up requires an increased level of physical abilities and can be strenuous at times.

Work Environment, Hours of Work, and Travel Requirements:
- Duties will be performed in a museum environment, which includes interaction with the public and exposure to children and families.
- Required to work weekends.
- Occasionally work evenings and extended hours.
- Ability to work on as needed basis.
- Availability required one (1) month in advance.
Clearances:
- FBI fingerprints (Department of Human Services), PA Child Abuse History Certification (Act 33), and PA State Criminal History Record Check (Act 34) clearances are required.
