Blender Operator (PFC)
Summary
Operates and maintains blending equipment in a manufacturing plant, ensuring product quality, safety, and compliance with GMP/HACCP standards.
This position is responsible for ensuring the blending tanks that grind and mix materials. Assembles and disassembles all blending and manufacturing equipment.
DESCRIPTION
- Ensures compliance regarding Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Good Housekeeping Practices for all activities.
- Immediately report to supervisor any incident and unsafe condition.
- Assist with the movement of pallets or sacks.
- Maintains optimal resin levels in blenders.
- Ensures proper storage and handling of different resin types.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Provides solvent and checks the quality of the product.
- Responsible for plant sanitation and monitoring action plans to maintain current GMP’s. Standard Operating procedures and safety policies while performing all jobs duties.
- Monitoring Ecopak levels and changing with new bags package.
- Responsible for keeping Ecopak running without problems.
- Accurately records material usage in the inventory system.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES
- Must have general knowledge of packaging equipment principles.
- Ability to visually check defects in the product, sense of tones, shapes, and temperatures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of relevant equipment policies and procedures.
- Must be knowledgeable of GMPs and HACCP.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and logs.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
- Preferred experience in manufacturing, preferably in flexible plastic packaging.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to operate basic tools and measuring devices (tape measure, scale, etc.).
- Ability of repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, carrying, going up and down ladders/steps.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English to effectively communicate and interpret instructions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is performed primarily on the manufacturing floor, which may involve exposure to loud noises, machinery, high temperatures and chemicals.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures is crucial due to potential hazards associated with machinery and chemicals.
