Blockchain Specialist
Summary
Blockchain Specialist at Hydra X owns the ledger-layer design across public and permissioned networks (Canton priority, plus EVM), modelling instruments and lifecycle events on-chain, designing cross-ledger settlement (DvP/PvP), and setting node/validator operations. Needs 8+ years engineering with 4+ years in production distributed ledgers and strong capital markets knowledge.
Hydra X is building institutional-grade infrastructure across custody, exchange, tokenisation and digital asset networks.
We are looking for a Blockchain Specialist to own the design of Hydra X's ledger layer across the public and permissioned networks our clients use, and the connections between them.
The role would cover the ledger networks Hydra X supports today and those it may support as client demand changes. A current priority is the Canton Network. The role also covers EVM-based and other networks, and how assets move between them.
Strong capital markets knowledge is essential. Experience with Daml and Canton is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
Own ledger-layer design across the networks Hydra X supports: how instruments and their lifecycle events (issuance, transfers, corporate actions, settlement) are modelled on-chain.
Assess ledger networks and protocols for client deployments, covering privacy, finality, governance, key management and regulatory fit, and advise Client Solutions, Sales Engineering and clients on the trade-offs.
Design interoperability between ledgers, including Canton and EVM-based networks, for cross-ledger settlement and asset movement (DvP, PvP).
Set the operating model for Hydra X's nodes and validators, including Canton validator nodes across self-operated, dedicated and shared set-ups.
Track token standards and industry interoperability work, and recommend what Hydra X adopts.
Set smart contract standards and review contract code across our regional engineering teams.
Work with our Engineering team to keep ledger decisions consistent with the wider system.
