Blood Bank Supervisor - LABORATORY

DEFINITION:

Responsible for the daily operations for the laboratory including staff performing testing and reporting test results maintaining policies and procedures and quality control practices in the laboratory.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science degree in a science related field and completion of an approved Medical Technology training program or equivalent clinical training.

REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS (IF APPLICABLE):

Certified/Registered as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, must meet the minimum requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Act of 1988.

One (1) year experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must meet the minimum requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Act of 1988 as a general supervisor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

One (1) to five (5) years experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in the appropriate technical discipline(s).

Supervisory experience desirable.
